Summary:
Wiggins brings one of the loudest raw arms in the college game, with a fastball that consistently climbs into the upper-90s and has touched triple digits with late life and carry through the zone. The heater is the clear carrying tool, jumping on hitters from a three-quarters slot with strong extension and relatively low effort for the velocity produced. The slider sits in the low-to-mid-80s and flashes above-average depth and chase when he stays on top of it, giving him a legitimate bat-miss pairing with the fastball. A changeup has shown occasional promise in past looks with late fade, but the profile currently leans heavily on the two power pitches. Injury interruptions, including missed time after elbow surgery, have limited innings and consistency, and strike throwing remains the biggest separator between projection and outcome.

The delivery is athletic and repeatable in flashes, with good body control and arm speed that hint at more command than he’s shown to date. When timing is right, the operation looks clean enough to support a starter’s workload, and the raw ingredients point to a high-end ceiling if control and slider execution take steps forward. The risk is real — inconsistent command, difficulty landing the breaking ball for strikes, and durability questions leave a wide outcome band — but the upside is equally clear. With improved strike efficiency, the fastball/slider combo gives him frontline starter traits; without it, the stuff still profiles as a potential late-inning weapon where the velocity and power breaking ball could play at the highest level.

Sample size is a real concern here. While he may have the biggest stuff in college baseball, Wiggins has only thrown 14 innings coming into 2026 and there is no guarantee he will pitch this year.
