| Summary: Flora is a familiar name from Pleasanton, CA and one we may hear twice during the MLB draft this coming July. Hudson, the younger brother of projected first rounder Jackson (RHP, UC Santa Barbara), is an athletic catcher with plenty of projection. At 6’3″, 190 lbs., his frame remains primed for additional strength. The hit tool plays for the catcher with above average bat to ball skill. Flora shows elite level plate discipline for a prep player with minimal swing and miss. He displays solid separation as his front foot rocks back before striding forward. The hands drop slightly from a higher slot and stay back well during pitch recognition. The potential for power is there as he matures physically with his build and present bat speed. Flora receives the ball well behind the plate, with further refinement sure to come. His exchange is consistent and quick. The arm is accurate and strong with in-game pop times being recorded under 2.0. Flora has all of the tools and the make up to become an impact catcher at the next level. His physical development will be a key factor in how much his stock will rise. | |||||||||||
