2026 MLB Draft: Chris Rembert, 2B, Auburn

Player: Chris Rembert
School: AuburnPosition(s): 2B
Height: 6;Weight: 202 lbs.Bats: RightThrows: Right
Summary:
Rembert’s bat speed is the first thing that jumps out, and it drives everything the offensive profile does well. The compact, repeatable right-handed swing generates plus raw power to the pull side with the ability to drive the ball to all fields as the approach has matured. The plate discipline and bat-to-ball ability give the power a foundation to work from — this isn’t a free-swinger getting to his power by accident, the approach and contact quality are legitimate. Handling premium velocity is a strength, and the power trends have moved in the right direction as the physical maturity has caught up to the tools.

Spin recognition is the variable to watch. Breaking balls have created some swing-and-miss, and the pull-heavy contact pattern can get exaggerated when he’s chasing. The approach improvements have made it more manageable, and the bat speed gives him enough margin to work with even when the spin recognition isn’t at its best. The open stance and tendency to let the body get ahead of the hands are mechanical notes worth monitoring but nothing that has derailed the production.

Defensively, second base is the long-term home. The actions are steady, the hands are reliable, and the athleticism and speed give him enough range to handle the position every day. The offensive ceiling is what drives the profile, and the tools are loud enough to support a big league regular projection if the power against spin continues trending in the right direction.
