Summary:
When healthy, Prielipp is one of the more complete lefthanded arms in the system. Working from a high three-quarter slot with quick actions and good ball-hiding, the fastball sits 93-96 and touches higher with carry and bat-missing ability at the top of the zone — a sinker variant mixed in against both platoons gives him a second fastball look with enough separation to matter. The delivery lands closed with a firm front-leg block that drives the overall arsenal’s effectiveness.

The slider is the calling card and it’s a legitimate one. Boasting the highest spin rate in the system, it ranges from a tight gyro look to a slurvy two-plane shape depending on the matchup — tightening against right-handed hitters and adding sweep against lefties. The changeup complements it as a plus offering built more on command and feel than shape, locating on edges and burying it when a whiff is needed. A curveball rounds out a mix that is already among the most polished in the organization. The command is still developing with consistent reps but the foundation is clearly there.

Durability has been the primary variable throughout the profile’s development, and the full healthy season in 2025 was an encouraging sign that the body can handle a starter’s workload. The trajectory warrants optimism, and if the health holds the arsenal is more than capable of supporting a back-end rotation role with legitimate upside beyond it. The ceiling conversation runs directly through staying on the mound — the stuff has never been the question.
