| Summary: Springall is a twitchy middle infielder from Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. Though his build may not jump off the page, the athleticism and polish as a prep player should. Springall showcases lightning quick hands through the zone with a simple, compact stroke. He sets up neutral in the box with a leg lift that can vary at times. Generally speaking, its a straight up and down trigger with minimal excess movement. He’s a gap to gap hitter with real feel for the barrel. There is some loft with the swing and additional strength is sure to come. Springall is a very smooth defender who has primarily seen time at shortstop at the prep level. The hands he shows off in the box play in the dirt as well. He’s methodical with a very quick exchange. The footwork around the bag is exceptional and has shown range to both his left and right. The arm is slightly above average and should continue to develop. Springall projects as a second basemen at the next level, however with continued physical growth and overall development, the 6 hole may be an option long term. A gritty ballplayer committed to the University of Tennessee, Springall is a prospect to watch as a potential day 2 candidate in July. | |||||||||||
Eric Dillinger is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Erie High School, entering his 4th season as the Head Coach and 9th season overall. Dillinger was the pitching coach at Erie prior to becoming head coach. At the club level, he has coached nationally for multiple organizations including the Colorado Yard Dawgs, the Colorado Rockies Scout program, and USA Prime. Dillinger is also currently the General Manager for D-BAT NW Denver. In addition to his duties as GM, he is also a senior pitching instructor. He is certified in Rapsodo Pitching and is also Driveline Certified (Pitch Design). Beyond coaching on the field, Dillinger enjoys helping athletes in the recruiting process. He has helped over 40 athletes find homes at the next level.
