Summary:
An unusually deep pre-swing load with hands starting high before working down and back generates significant rotational energy and hip-shoulder separation that produces more thump than the frame suggests. The approach and contact quality are what make the profile functional — above-average plate discipline, a solid awareness of how pitchers attack him, and the ability to consistently make hard contact on pitches over the plate give the offensive profile a floor that holds up even without a carrying tool. The instincts on the bases add a dimension that average straight-line speed wouldn’t suggest.

The batted ball profile is where the ceiling gets defined and limited. A tendency to spray contact around the field without consistently pulling the ball in the air keeps the home run production modest despite above-average raw power — the thump is real but the profile works against accessing it consistently. The hands working so far behind the back knee can create challenges getting on plane against velocity up in the zone, and the significant platoon split against right-handed pitching compounds the contact concerns against premium arms.

Defensively, second base is the more natural fit with third base a plug-in option at best — quick hips and solid hands at the keystone, but reaction times strain at the hot corner. The bench piece role is the realistic outcome where the platoon production against left-handed pitching and the contact quality give the bat genuine value in the right spots without the platoon split being exposed on a nightly basis.
