2027 MLB Draft: Cole Cinnamond, LHP, Great Bridge

Player: Cole Cinnamond
School: Great Bridge (VA)Position(s): LHP
Height: 6’5″Weight: 230 lbs.Bats: LeftThrows: Left
Summary:
Easy arm speed and a loose operation from a large, projectable frame give Cinnamond a premium lefty foundation that is difficult to find at this stage of development. The fastball has touched 95 with more in the tank as the frame continues to fill out, and the ability to tunnel multiple pitches effectively gives the arsenal a sophistication that goes beyond raw stuff. A hard slider with late bite and a fading changeup both project as plus offerings with continued development — a three-pitch lefthander with this kind of arm speed and pitch variety at this age is a profile worth tracking closely.

Some stiffness in the delivery and the need to better control the glove arm have contributed to command inconsistencies that are the primary development area. Neither is a structural concern given the athleticism and projection in the frame — the mechanical refinements are workable and the loose arm action gives the delivery a foundation that can be cleaned up without losing what makes the stuff effective. The command will need to develop alongside the stuff as the competition level rises, and how quickly it does will drive the projection conversation.

The pitcher profile is clearly ahead and the ingredients of a premium left-handed starter are present. The two-way background at first base adds context but the ceiling conversation lives entirely on the mound where the arm speed, pitch mix and projection give the profile a high upside if the delivery tightens.
