| Summary: Prosek continues his ascent up boards as we close in on the 2026 draft. The left-handed swinging prep star from Mississippi did plenty to help his stock this spring in addition to consistent showcase play throughout his young career. Prosek fell just short of the national home run lead in 26′ with 18 on the spring season. Though he’s flashed power throughout his prep career, the overall hit tool is what should carry Prosek into the professional ranks. He deploys an efficient, compact stroke that allows him to find the barrel consistently. The step up is slightly open with an intentional and controlled first move toward the middle. The front leg triggers slightly back before gaining quite a bit of ground at foot strike. He stays through the baseball with the barrel, riding through the zone for an extended period with loft. As he continues to mature physically, the power should become a plus tool. The biggest take away from the swing is his ability to repeat it while using all fields. The Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year has done a little bit of it all defensively. He’s seen significant time at short-stop, though the 6-hole is an unlikely path forward. With a strong and accurate arm, one that’s been up to 93 mph on the mound, 3B looks to be a safer bet. Prosek did see meaningful innings behind the dish this spring as well with some scouts believing this may be a likely landing spot at the pro level. Prosek is one of the more advanced bats in the 2026 prep ranks with multiple defensive possibilities. His consistency at the high school level and on the showcase circuit point to a player ready to handle top competition. Signed with Ole Miss, the likelihood of seeing Prosek on campus have dwindled as appears to be a lock for Day 1 next weekend. | |||||||||||
