2026 MLB Draft: Eric Guevara, 3B, Auburn

School: AuburnPosition(s): 3B
Height: 5’11”Weight: 207 lbs. Bats: RightThrows: Right
Summary:
Guevara brings a unique profile to the 2026 draft. The Panamanian native has shown marked improvement year over year at Auburn and continues to trend upward. After an underwhelming freshmen campaign for the Tigers, Guevara followed it up slashing .331/.388/.556 with 5 home runs as a sophomore. In 2026, as an anchor in Auburn’s infield, Guevara finished with a .322 BA while flashing more power with 13 HR’s and overall run production with 55 rbi.

Much of his uniqueness comes from his set up in the box. Guevara features a completely open front leg while staying slightly crouched. He’s athletic and fluid throughout creating solid separation as he drives forward. He has an aggressive approach, with a walk rate of only 7.8% in 2026. There is swing and miss in his game, however he continues to show plus bat to ball skill while adding power to his arsenal. Should he continue to trend as he has and find balance with strike zone discipline, Guevara projects to be a 20+ home run threat.

Defensively, Guevara earned All-Defensive team in the SEC the last two seasons. He’s seen time at 3B, 2B, SS, and left field at Auburn. He has solid arm strength with the ability to make throws on the run accurately. His build and profile says 3B at the next level, though 2B may also be an option. Guevara’s improvement year over year is intriguing. As he makes the move to wood at the pro level it will be interesting to see just where his ceiling is.
