I get the sense this year is much like 2023. There is an elite grouping at the top, the team with the top pick is tied to several other players in that grouping, but ultimately go with who they have been tied to the longest. In 2023 that player was Paul Skenes, this year it is Roch Cholowsky. That said, there is as much uncertainty as I can remember going into draft day given the new eligibility rules at the NCAA level, the growing strength of NIL, and the labor negotiations leaving plenty of questions about what the future of the draft will look like. That all said, here is my mock draft for today:
