2027 MLB Draft: Jackson Marshall, 1B, UConn

Player: Jackson Marshall
School: UConnPosition(s): 1B
Height: 6’8”Weight: 260Bats: RightThrows: Right
Summary:
One of the bigger (literally) players in college baseball, Jackson Marshall’s profile is all about his size. He stands 6’8”, and has the type of hitting profile that you would expect. He does move well for his size, and is at least an average defender at the first base position.

Hitting-wise, Marshall is always a threat to crush the ball. He has a solid, fairly compact swing, but at his size, any swing can send the ball quite a ways. He does have a large strike zone, but a combination of good patience at the plate and enormous raw power makes him an incredibly intriguing prospect. He has had a bit of difficulty adjusting to summer ball, but the size and bat speed means that wood bats should not be a problem long-term.

Defensively, Marshall is most likely limited to first base, just as a sheer necessity for how big he is. However, he receives the ball well at the first base bag, and moves well around the base.
