Summary:
Eyanson has been one of the biggest arrow-up pitching prospects in baseball this year, putting up a combined ERA of 1.19 across two levels, following a year at LSU where he formed a devastating 1-2 punch with current Mariners top prospect Kade Anderson. He has dominated both levels at which he has played, and has quickly become one of the most exciting Red Sox pitching prospects, no mean feat considering the presence of Kyson Witherspoon, Marcus Phillips, and fellow arrow-up guy Devin Futrell.

In his repertoire, Eyanson leads with a good fastball, sitting 92-95, but has hit triple digits with it in Spring Training. His best pitch, however, is a big curveball that sits anywhere in the mid 80’s with great depth, and gets swing and miss, especially when tunnelled with the fastball. He also features a slider and changeup, both of which are still developing, but have shown signs of really good potential. The fastball and curveball are both near Major League ready, and much of Eyanson’s potential will hinge on how good he can get his secondaries to be. Overall, he most likely will not be a huge strikeout pitcher, but he induces tons of weak contact and should be seen as a future middle of the rotation arm.

Delivery wise, Eyanson uses a fairly high-effort motion with an over-the-top arm angle. He uses his arm angle well to make his pitches move, especially the curveball, giving it great 12-6 movement. Despite the effort he puts into the delivery, he controls and commands the ball well in and out of the strike zone.
