| Summary: After a freshmen campaign flying high with the Falcons, Hanoian is off to Knoxville to join the Vols. The Mountain West Freshmen of the Year put up eye opening numbers in 2026, including a .357 BA while only punching out 21 times in 245 plate appearances. He’s an on-base machine, working his way on via BB and HBP a combine 56 times helping contribute to a .498 OBP. In addition to what he offers at the plate, Hanoian is a versitle piece on the defensive side. At Air Force, he started games in four different spots for the Birds. Though capable of filling a number of different roles as a utility player, Hanoian’s most likely defensive spot at the next level will be in the 4-hole. He works comfortably around the bag with good hands, transfers, and an arm fully capable of getting the job done up the middle. He’s a switch hitter with similarities in set up on both sides of the dish. From the left side, Hanion has an open orientation with hands positioned just above his head. The leg kick starts early and hangs high. He creates tourque with the approach and doesn’t get cheated as he looks to do damage. You’d expect more swing and miss with the moving parts, but as he demonstarted in 2026, his bat to ball skills are a plus tool. On the right side, its a very similar approach with a slightly less open stance. The leg kick trigger and hand positioning are the same. With 6 HR’s last year, expect to see the power continue to develop. Hanoian will more than likely remain a gap to gap threat, however he has posted exit velocities north of 110 mph. Sneaky pop will more than likely be the ceiling here. Hanoian joins what is expected to be a loaded infield at Tennessee next season. His versitility should serve him well as Elander looks for ways to get said infielders at bats. Hanoian not only survived a year at the Air Force Academy, but thrived. He wont back down from the competion that is sure to come internally and from the SEC as a whole. | |||||||||||
Eric Dillinger is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Erie High School, entering his 4th season as the Head Coach and 9th season overall. Dillinger was the pitching coach at Erie prior to becoming head coach. At the club level, he has coached nationally for multiple organizations including the Colorado Yard Dawgs, the Colorado Rockies Scout program, and USA Prime. Dillinger is also currently the General Manager for D-BAT NW Denver. In addition to his duties as GM, he is also a senior pitching instructor. He is certified in Rapsodo Pitching and is also Driveline Certified (Pitch Design). Beyond coaching on the field, Dillinger enjoys helping athletes in the recruiting process. He has helped over 40 athletes find homes at the next level.
