| Summary: Doyle is yet another physical right-hander pitcher out of the mid-west in the 2027 prep class. The size jumps out with an already mature frame, however the athleticism accompanied by that size is what really makes Doyle an intriguing prospect. The arsenal is developing with plenty of upside on the horizon. The fastball has been up to 96 mph, living in the 90-94 mph range. There is swing and miss there, especially up in the zone. He showcased its ability during the Area Code Games at the end of the summer. Though Doyle is already physical, as he matures and continues to understand how to utilize his frame, the fastball has a chance to live in the mid-90’s and potentially top triple digits. His primary secondary pitcher is the slider. It has potentially, though there is more work there to do. It sits in the low 80’s with some depth. Doyle has been known to guide it at times, not staying consistent with arm speed. It does have the ability to play well of the fastball from his launch point. He also offers a splitter that he’s comfortable throwing the lefties and righties. It’s got tumble and overall solid shape. Similar to the slider, he can slow the arm action down with it. Doyle sets up on the first base side of the rubber and works with a purpose. There’s a measured tempo to his operation. Despite the urgency he manages to repeat incredibly well. The overall body control stands out while his longer levers remain loose working around the center. Doyle pounds the zone and is a developmental dream. Should he have the spring he’s capable of, he’s a name we should see continue to rise as we approach July. | |||||||||||
