| Summary: Ragsdale’s speed is the standout, a double-plus tool that plays in every phase of the game. In center field it lets him cover a lot of ground, the arm is the weaker tool of the group, and center is his home. On the bases he’s a weapon who picks his spots well. At the plate he’s a left-handed hitter who keeps his lower half still and starts with almost no movement. Velocity doesn’t rush him, though pitches up and away can beat him. The approach is disciplined and rarely chases, and the strikeouts come from the deep counts that patience creates, not from trouble making contact. The power is modest. He’s started getting the ball in the air more with some life to the pull side, but nobody sees a real home run bat. The glove at a premium position and the speed are enough to carry a big league job on their own. If the bat keeps coming, the role gets bigger. | |||||||||||
