| Summary: Mogollon’s strength outpaces his size, and he puts everything into every swing from the right side, looking to drive the ball. The raw power grades above average, and the hard contact has come in spite of the effort the swing demands. The bat has moved forward. He makes more contact than he used to and chooses his pitches better, and he’s no longer living only on pulled balls, with the power now carrying to all fields. He still misses a good bit, and a more patient approach has brought a few extra strikeouts along with it, but the direction is encouraging. Second base is the natural fit for his range and his glove work, and the arm can handle shortstop or third in spots. He can play too fast, and the actions need to settle. He’s a plus runner who creates problems for defenses on the bases. Injuries have taken time away from his development, and staying on the field is the main thing between him and a role that moves him around the infield, built on pop and legs. | |||||||||||
