Summary:
Ferrubus is a right-handed hitter who puts the bat on the ball consistently and has plenty of strength in his hands and forearms, though the damage hasn’t come yet. Too many of his balls stay on the ground, so the strength shows up as singles more than doubles and homers, and lifting the ball is the adjustment that matters most. He generates hard contact regularly, and the way he goes the other way and handles the bat gives him a solid foundation.

The approach is the second limiter. He swings at too many pitches out of the zone, which leaves his walks low and his path through the zone short on polish. The swing can get flat and finish abruptly, and he’s at his best on pitches down in the zone, where he can load into his lower half and drive line drives. His contact and his power each grade about average, with more available if he adds loft and tightens his chase habits.

Behind the plate, catcher is the likely home, and the organization expects him to stay at the position. His hands are serviceable and his arm is enough, though the throwing mechanics need to be cleaner to improve his accuracy. He can look uneasy catching pitches to his glove side from a staggered stance, but he’s athletic enough to settle in as a smoother receiver. He’s also played some first base. Injuries have cost him time on the field, and more innings behind the plate would help his progress.

He projects as an average everyday catcher with a bat that could add value, and the open questions are chase, ball flight, and defensive repetition. How many of those he answers will set the ceiling.
