| Summary: Duckett is a left-hander with a free-moving arm and a build with plenty of room to put on weight. The fastball sits 88-90 and spins about 2,300 rpm, and the speed of his arm points to more velocity as he fills out. He throws from a low slot with some cross-body action from the first-base side of the rubber. His breaking ball is a sweeper in the mid-to-upper 70s, and its look hasn’t been consistent from one outing to the next, which leaves room for it to develop into more. He also throws a changeup in the upper 70s. In one outing the strikes didn’t come consistently, a single look that doesn’t define him this early. He fits the starter track, though it’s early. The loose arm, the athleticism in his delivery, and a frame with a lot of growth left are the foundation, and added strength should lift the velocity. More velocity is the clearest way for the profile to move. | |||||||||||
