Summary:
Boesen is a left-handed hitter with a big, athletic build, and his swing gets underneath the ball with little effort and generates a lot of raw power. He’s a hitterish bat with accurate barrel control and command of the strike zone that stand out among his peers. He reaches pitches across the plate smoothly and drives the ball in every direction. The gap power is already there, and more over-the-fence power should come as he gets stronger. The hard contact has come against quality fastballs, and he’s produced everywhere he’s played.

The hit tool is strong. He doesn’t strike out much for his size, and he takes his walks and works long counts. The approach is also what limits him. He lets pitches get deep and sends them to the opposite field instead of using his size and strength to pull the ball. That’s kept his contact quality high but muted his impact, and although the raw power projects as at least above average, he’s more of a singles-and-doubles bat until he’s willing to attack a pitch he can drive.

He doesn’t run well, and the arm would work in right field, but his size makes first base the more likely landing spot. A move to first puts more pressure on the power tool.

The bat is the profile, and the open question is whether the power shows up in games. With this much size, contact skill, and discipline, the outlook gets exciting if he starts pulling the ball with intent.
