| Summary: Aloy is one of the more unique and difficult evaluations in the 2025 class. He dominated in 2023 at Sacramento State and was one of the prized transfers in 2024 when he moved to Arkansas. His numbers in his first season in the SEC were respectable, but many expected them to be better. Over the summer he went to the Cape and was every bit the stud all were expecting. After hitting 14 home runs in each of the previous two seasons, he launched eight in just 21 games with wood, showing the power in the bat translates. The problem is he expands the zone too much and the swing gets long due to hitchiness and big swings that leave him off balance with his head pulled off the ball quite a bit. This leaves him slower to first than his overall athleticism would suggest and he really struggles on the outer half, especially against spin. Some calming of the swing and a little more filling out should allow him to keep the power while improving the hit tool. Defensively he is an above average shortstop currently, but that filling out could see him have to move to third, although I have confidence he can stick. | |||||||||||
