| Summary: Florida State had been quiet about the status of Leiter much of the Fall as he continues to recover from an injury that prematurely ended his season. Link Jarrett recently came out speaking of a procedure but seemed positive that it was more of a cleanup than anything else and there is hope we will see Leiter this season. Yes, he does come from THAT Leiter family! He has a fastball that has been up to 99 and has plus potential, although it can get a bit flat too often. He mixes in a cutting slider in the upper-80s that gets plenty of swing and miss, while his low-80s curve has impressive depth. He has shown a change here and there but that is by far his fourth offering. His overall command really needs improving as it is below average currently, but his curve is the pitch he seems to command best currently. Despite the injury issues he is struggling with, the delivery is clean and should project to a rotation rather easily. | |||||||||||
