| Summary: With a super athletic and projectable frame, there is a ton to like in this prep infielder. Johnson hits the ball hard to all fields but really drives the ball best to the pull side. The hands are well positioned to create a quick and direct path to the zone that keeps him on time even from an open stance with a decent leg kick. Watching him play defense currently is a joy as the athleticism and aggression really shine and he has plus instincts. The frame is still long and lean which does lead to some concerns that he may move to third someday, but the athleticism and actions mean he will be rolled out at short until he proves he can’t stay there. The arm won’t ever be a concern as it could develop into a plus tool easily as he adds strength. | |||||||||||
