| Summary: I have real questions about Helfrick behind the plate as it is hard getting the 2022 HS All American Game out of my head where he gave up far too many passed balls and actually hit the batter while throwing the ball back to the pitcher once. That said, he has showed well at other times and I am slowly coming around to thinking he can be at least average behind the plate, where his plus arm will be a true weapon. At the plate, he turns over his top hand well after his leg kick from a slightly open stance and his hips and hands stay in sync creating real bat speed. While there is a heavy load, that bat speed allows him to make plenty of contact and the hit tool is solid despite his numbers in college thus far. He has plenty of power, especially pull side, although he did not show it much in his first season on campus, he did launch 11 home runs in 36 games on the Cape over the summer. | |||||||||||
