| Summary: A player I have seen a lot of since his prep days at Regis Jesuit in Colorado, Macias really struggled at the plate as a freshman but bounced back big time a season ago. While he lacks a true carrying tool, he is very athletic and runs well, leaving open the possibility to stick in center, although his instincts there aren’t the greatest and the arm would make him hard pressed to see time in right. There are certainly some strikeouts in the bat and he can get aggressive, but he has quality bat control and should be at least an average hitter with 15-20 home run potential. He was a prep shortstop, but has seen a handful of games at second base in college, the upside may not be massive here, there is a pretty safe floor of a high quality utility guy who could contribute at four positions. | |||||||||||
