| Summary: Had he been healthy, there is a good chance Paz would have found himself as a no-brainer first rounder with as much upside as any arm in the draft. Unfortunately he underwent Tommy John surgery before the showcase circuit began this summer and obviously won’t pitch this Spring. He has a low effort, starter’s look delivery with a quick, long arm action although the release point can leave him at times and command can be inconsistent. His fastball works in the low-90s although he has been up to 96 and has projection to be sitting there in time. His slider tunnels really well in the low-80s and has late two plane break with plus upside. He has a solid change in the low-to-mid-80s that has some fade and tumble and could very easily be an above-average future. | |||||||||||
