| Summary: With a short and quick bat path to the zone, but staying long through it, Serrano handles velocity about as well as any prep bat in the class. He is able to get extension through the swing allowing him to really drive the ball with raw power bordering on plus. A quality breaking ball does get him out in front too easily and that will certainly need to improve for him to be able to take full advantage of the power. The run tool is an easy plus giving him a shot to stick in center long term, but the bat is enough to allow him to profile just fine if he eventually needs to shift to a corner. The key here is going to be how well he improves the hit tool before the draft, as a better approach could see him as high as a late day one pick, but if teams have too much concern with the tool he could easily end up at Wake Forest. | |||||||||||
