| Summary: There is a ton to love with Williams, but there is quite a bit that makes you nervous too. Let’s get the negative out of the way first. He does not cover a ton of ground, doesn’t take the best routes, and has a fringy arm, meaning his best defensive position long term is going to be left field. At the plate, he expands the zone WAY too much leading to genuine concerns with his hit tool. That said, he does quiet his approach some with two strikes to help limit the strikeouts some, but more discipline at the plate will allow him to do more damage more consistently. Damage is the key here, as he can absolutely crush baseballs. He puts up crazy exit velos and the ball flies off his bat. The power is a genuine carrying tool, but some of the concerns can be cleaned up and there is some potential for a more all around player here. | |||||||||||
