| Summary: 2024 had scouts excited to see what Northeastern had between Mike Sirota and Maldonado, but both had down years. Sirota is not in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, and Maldonado is the premier bat for the Huskies. He is a plus runner who is a headache for the opposition when on base, but that speed doesn’t translate to a centerfield profile. Instead he will likely be a corner outfielder, with the best fit being left as his arm is fringy. He has a tall, closed setup in the box with the bat resting on his shoulder and a minimal load before his hands really fire through the zone. The quick hands certainly translate to power, and his approach could land him an average hit tool grade, but he does struggle against spin. While there is big league starter upside here, this is a player who could be a do it all fourth outfielder who brings a unique power-speed combo to a bench long term. | |||||||||||
