| Summary: While there is definitely some effort and head whack late in his delivery, two things he is ironing out and improving on, the pitchability from McKernan is impressive. It is a simple delivery with a mild hitch before really getting into his legs driving down the mound into a 3/4 to just lower slot. He repeats his operation well and can spot all three of his pitches. His fastball sits 92-94 with plenty of life to the arm side making it really heavy, especially to lefty bats. His slider is a two plane sweeper from 80-83 but it does lack some vertical depth in its shape. He can absolutely kill spin on his low-to-mid 80s changeup and can throw it in any count. If he makes it to campus in Austin and can work under the tutelage of pitching coach Max Weiner, he could rocket himself into the first round in 2028. | |||||||||||
