| Summary: Martin is a legit two sport prospect as he is a decorated basketball player, and he has seen plenty of time at short on the diamond too. That overall athleticism really shows on the mound where he uses a shorter arm path into good 3/4 to just lower release with good extension. The ball jumps out of his hand, sitting in the low-90s but been up to 96 with the fastball. He has a solid change in the low 80s that features some good fade and is a legit offering. The breaking ball is inconsistent, ranging from 74-81 with some depth, but the arm does slow a tick and could really use some refining to make it a clear curve or slider, as it can get stuck between currently. Given he has given so much of his time to the hardwood and the dirt, there is a ton of upside here as he is a rather raw pitcher, but the stuff is real. He is committed to Arkansas, where he could really rocket up some draft boards after focusing on the art of pitching full time, but the upside is more than enough to make a team fall in love with the stuff and sign him away from the Razorbacks. | |||||||||||
