| Summary: Surprise, surprise, Tennessee has an arm transfer in and suddenly has one of the best fastballs in college baseball. Franklin spent two seasons at Kennesaw State where he really struggled keeping the ball in the zone. This season he has significantly decreased the walk rate, and the fastball has taken a real step forward, touching 102. To go with that swing and miss fastball, he has a low 90s cutter that tends to draw plenty of soft contact. He has shown another breaking ball now and then but nothing that has even flashed as a viable option. The lack of a third offering and the fact he is now much more control over command, as he is in the zone plenty but leaves too many balls in the middle of it, the idea of him developing into a starter as a pro is diminishing. That said, he has the stuff to be a true weapon as a high leverage reliever at the next level. | |||||||||||
