| Summary: Simply put, Pitts has not been getting the attention he deserves publicly, but scouts are really high on him. He has a high handset that explodes into the zone with real bat speed, but he can manipulate the barrel well and handle pitches throughout the zone. There isn’t much effort in the swing and he gets good leverage through it allowing him to really drive the ball. He certainly expands the zone too often and the hands can drift in the load causing him to fire a bit late, so that will need to be cleaned up over time. He has true 70 grade speed that plays on the bases and in center field. He originally committed to South Carolina under the old recruiting rules at the age of 13, but has changed that commitment to USF in the past year, but I find it a long shot he makes it to campus. | |||||||||||
