| Summary: Faurot had some real draft interest in 2022, I had him ranked 241 in the class, but ultimately made it to campus at UCF. As a freshman there his power played immediately, setting the school freshman home run record, but the hit tool and whiff rate concerns also plagued him. He transferred to Florida State where he has spent the last two years, and has steadily improved. A switch-hitter, he has more production, especially in the power department, from the left side, but he also swings and misses more often on that side. He will certainly expand the zone a little too often, but he battles and can make for some long at bats. While he has played much of his time at second, many scouts believe he can make it at short as he has enough arm and the glove plays. The big question is whether or not a team truly believes he can stick as a switch-hitter long term as there is certainly plenty of debate there in the scouting community but, ultimately, I think he can and should provide good pop while being at least an average defender at short. | |||||||||||
