| Summary: Yes, this is Marcus Stroman’s little brother, and like Marcus, Jayden is a legit two way talent coming out of high school was committed to Duke but decommitted and is now planning on attending Virgnia after the coaching change. At the end of the summer I had him tabbed as a definite position player with legit bat speed and a natural uppercut stroke and plus speed. He is a solid defender at short and the arm is impressive. Then, by this spring, he was focusing more on the mound, and now it seems most scouts like him more as a pitcher. The fastball sits in the low-to-mid 90s and been up to 97 and he can snap off a low 80s curve that has flashed plus while mixing in both a slider and change as well. Command is inconsistent currently but, obviously, there is plenty of athleticism here which should allow him to find that if he transitions to hitting full time. While there will be plenty of interest in the draft, don’t be surprised to find out his price is too high because he could very well head to campus and aim at becoming a two-way Freshman All-American just like his brother. | |||||||||||
