| Summary: You don’t often see prep players selected in the second round go unsigned, but that is just what Bell did, choosing to attend Kentucky instead of signing with the Tampa Bay Rays. Ranked 83 overall in the class for me last year, and he was not overmatched as a freshman in the SEC. He will be a draft eligible sophomore in 2026 where his smooth actions as a fluid defender and strong internal clock at short is impressive and he could be a plus defender at the position. The total upside here is reliant on the bat, something that played just fine this year, hitting .296 and sending ten balls over the wall. The bat can get long, but when it is on time he makes plenty of contact and can really drive the ball, especially to the pull side. | |||||||||||
