| Summary: After two years at Long Beach State, this high pitchability lefty made a jump to Texas A&M in hopes of helping lift the Aggies to a national title. The season did not go as anyone expected, with the team missing the tournament and Patton posting an ERA above 5. He is far from a power arm, sitting more 89-91 while occasionally touching 93 with the fastball that does cut some, it is the full mix that helps keep hitters off balance. He has a short sweeping bullet slider in the low 80s and a change in the mid 80s. He throws all his pitches for strikes and works backwards with ease, helping his stuff play better than the pure tools would suggest. The upside isn’t bigger than a number four starter, but there is a pretty high floor of at least a serviceable spot starter here | |||||||||||
