| Summary: With quick hands that clear the zone well, Wallace puts up solid exit velos while also putting in plus run times. The tools are certainly enough to make any scout excited, but he puts them together well on the field too. Defensively he could play in center or right, with right probably being where he would fit best, but would be an average defender up the middle. At the plate he very much differs from most prep bats, as he recognizes spin well and does more damage against secondary offerings than elite fastballs. Part of this is coming out of Nebraska where he did not see great velo too often, so he could struggle in showcase environments, but has enough hand speed I don’t see that being a long term issue. He doesn’t have a ton of projectability left in the body, which may be the thing that holds him back most from being selected in the top few rounds. | |||||||||||
