| Summary: Baird is a projectable righty with a tall and fall delivery with a long arm action he repeats exceptionally well. It is clean and easy but also has a high waisted projectable frame that gives him plenty of projection too. He sat 88-93 over the summer but rarely dipped into the 80s this spring and even touched 97 on the fastball that offers real carry. He has a slider that can get slurvy sitting 79-81 with mostly vertical action and late break and scouts would like to see it snapped off a little more. The changeup in the low 80s has plenty of late fade but, like the breaking ball, doesn’t really wow anyone currently. He can lose the strike zone at times, but the delivery has scouts very confident the command will be at least average, likely better, in time and improved secondary stuff could turn him into a quality rotation arm in time. | |||||||||||
