| Summary: Working from the far 1B side of the rubber, Wilcox has plenty of moving parts and hitchiness in his deliver, but also has plenty of leg drive tapping into his lower half. He does show the ball behind his back with his long levers, but the arm is loose with some whip before firing out of a lower 3/4 slot, with deception that allows the stuff to play up. The stuff has been up to 95 with plenty of run and upwards of 20” of induced vertical break. The slider sits 72-75 with plenty of sweep and flirts with 3k on the spin rate. The changeup has solid depth around 80 mph, giving him big separation off the fastball. The Colorado native is committed to Iowa where he will look to continue their high quality tradition of developing arms, but he is far from guaranteed to get to campus and is a name very much worth watching as we get into day two of the draft. | |||||||||||
