| Summary: One thing that is not a question at all in Donay’s game is his pure raw power, which you could easily give a 70 grade on. He started his college career at Virginia Tech before transferring to Florida for the 2024 season. In 2025 he had his best year as he launched 18 home runs, had an average over .300 and OPS above 1. That said, he did strike out more than a quarter of his plate appearances and the hit tool is a real concern. He has a wide base and it is a rather stiff setup and swing, but he did quiet down the load some in 2025 and there should be more improvement to come there. His best chance to get selected high would be from a team that believes he can stick behind the plate, although he is significantly larger than your typical catcher. His plus arm does play well there, but the overall package is not fantastic, meaning a move to right may be in the cards, although he does not have much range and runs the risk of being a first baseman long term, negating the benefits of that cannon of an arm. | |||||||||||
