| Summary: After seeing no prepsters selected from the state of Colorado in 2025, 2026 looks like a much higher level crop of talent, with a three headed arms race to be the top arm in the state between Hudson Alpert, Aaron Jacquez, and Wachsmann. Of the three, Wachsmann has the highest spin rates on the regular, with a fastball that has been up to 96, after topping out at 91 in 2024, and spin around 2,700. The slider also spins around 2,700 with potential to get that up to 3k in the future, gets plenty of swing and miss in the upper 70s into the 80s. It is a pitch that has immense upside, and both pitches will play up as he gets more consistency with his low 80s changeup. The arm is super quick to a 3/4 slot and has a frame that can handle a starter’s workload despite the fact he will only just turn 18 about a month before the draft. | |||||||||||
