| Summary: Kozeal started his college career at Vanderbilt in 2024 but transferred to Arkansas for 2025 and was a key bat in the lineup that made it to his hometown, Omaha. He is pretty clear cut destined to be a second baseman as that is where he has spend the bulk of his time in college so far and that is his future position professionally, but he can be a solid average defender there, won’t wow you but is far from a liability at the position. The value here comes from the bat and energy he brings to the game. He has good balance in the left handed swing and his hips clear well, really allowing him to generate solid pop through a smaller frame. While smaller, he has plenty of physicality and can really do damage to the pull side thanks to those hips clearing well and good bat speed. While he did hit 15 home runs in 2025, pure power numbers are not likely going to be a big part of his game as the swing leads to more line drives than moonshots. I would like to see him show a better feel for the zone and he could stand to improve recognizing spin, plus the numbers with wood have not come close to matching his production with metal, but the package overall is quite promising. | |||||||||||
