| Summary: There is a ton of projection here with Hinojosa, with a projectable frame, projection in the stuff, and easy to project better command in time too. He has a long arm stroke that leads to inconsistencies in the release point at times, hence the need to project more with the command, but it should come in time. His fastball sits 88-91 most days and has been up to 94 with some cutting action, but it is an easy delivery and a fast arm so sitting mid 90s and touching upper 90s is certainly something that could be in his future. His breaking ball has been classified as a curve by some and slider by others, and that is in large part due to the inconsistencies in the shape. It works 76-80 and there is a good feel for spin on the pitch, but harnessing that spin into a more consistent shape is certainly a focus for the development of the pitch. He also has a low 80s changeup that flashes but, again, is still inconsistent. All three of his pitches have above average potential so if he can get there and get the command up to even average, he has number three or four starter upside. | |||||||||||
