School: TexasPosition(s): C
Height: 6’4″Weight: 240 lbs. Bats: RightThrows: Right
Summary:
Tinney hasn’t skipped a beat since making the move from Notre Dame to Texas for the 2026 season. Tinney’s plus tool is power, and it has been on full display for the Longhorns this spring. He has eclipsed the 20 home run mark and has driven in 54 runs to date. The power was there before arriving to Austin, however, Tinney has added 20 lbs. without losing the athletic traits that make him who he is.

The swing is simple with plenty behind it. He starts tall in the box, lined up neutrally. It’s a smooth trigger, with an abbreviated leg lift getting the foot down quickly. The bat speed is real, with a level plane that stays through the zone, finishing with lift. Tinney has seen exit velocities north of 115 mph with titanic home runs to the pull side. In his first year in the SEC he continues to demonstrate the ability to get on base. Tinney has amassed 46 BB’s, 11 HBP’s, a .325 BA and an overall OBP of .476.
Tinney is a large target behind the plate. He continues to develop his receiving and blocking skills though the arm is the plus tool on the defensive side.

Tinney has the frame to withstand the rigors of a professional season behind the plate. He should continue to improve his tendency chasing pitches outside of the zone. He’s an intelligent player with a ferocious work ethic. Tinney remains one of the more intriguing power bats in this year’s draft.
