Summary:
The bat speed and power projection are what make Arnold’s profile impossible to ignore at this stage. A hulking left-handed hitter with present bat speed that few in the 2028 class can match — an open, wide-based setup with lower-set hands leading into a deep back-hip weight transfer built to maximize rotational force and generate elite exit velocities. The physicality and power projection give the offensive ceiling a loudness that makes the evaluation compelling regardless of the developmental work still ahead, and the peaks already being produced at this age give the projection real credibility.

The swing-and-miss and zone expansion are the concerns that keep the ceiling from being a clean projection. An opposite-field tendency against velocity and a groundball-heavy pattern against spin have created a profile that trends toward three true outcomes as currently constructed — and while the age and physical projection give real runway for the mechanical consistency to develop, the pattern is worth monitoring closely as the competition level rises. Getting the timing and triggers more consistent is the developmental priority that would allow the power to show up more regularly without the contact limitations undermining what the physical tools suggest is possible.

The transition away from catching is underway, and right field is the long-term defensive home where the above-average arm with plus potential and excellent athleticism for the size give the profile a natural fit. The power is the carrying tool and it’s loud enough to anchor an everyday right field profile if the hit tool development catches up — a 2028 bat with this kind of physicality and bat speed at this stage warrants close attention as the high school career builds.
