Summary: Son of Matt Holliday and brother of a former number one overall pick and current Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday, Ethan is more advanced than his dad was in high school, and even more advanced than Jackson was at this point in the process. That said, he is built much like his dad rather than his brother and there is a good chance he ends up moving off short and over the third in time. He will likely begin his pro career at short where he is a solid defender now, but has a plus arm that will play just fine at third. The swing is well balanced and compact allowing him to stay on the ball well but doesn’t lose any power in the process. There is plus power potential in the bat to go with a polished approach that allows him to draw plenty of walks to go with making a ton of contact.
