| Summary: A draft eligible Sophomore, I had Caraway ranked 65th overall in the 2023 draft. Like so many prospects, his Oregon State commitment was strong enough to get him to campus rather than drafted, and he burst onto the scene hitting a double then a home run in his first two trips to the plate last year. He only appeared in 17 more games and stepped to the plate just 70 more times due to a broken finger. He hit more ground balls than you want to see and there was some real swing and miss concerns, but the contact is LOUD. He earned himself a spot in the Cape Cod League All-Star Game and impressed all summer. Few players in the country had exit velocities like Caraway, and the hands clear the zone well allowing him to handle the whole plate. The high school shortstop, he was simply too stiff to stick there at the next level, but has shown quality defensive chops since moving over to third. | |||||||||||
