| Summary: If there is anyone who may fall victim to scout fatigue it may be Pack, as he seemingly participated in every showcase event there was over the past two summers. He is as polished a defensive center fielder as you will find at the prep level and he has a ton of range to go with it. Add that to the elite athleticism and you have yourself a no-brainer guy to stick up the middle. At the plate, there is quite a bit more pop than the body would suggest. I don’t anticipate he ever becomes a real home run threat, but the exit velos are up there, his bat path is just more of a line drive approach than one that puts much loft in the ball. There is some bat wrap in the slightly open stance, but the bat speed and ability to get his hands through the zone quickly allows him to make plenty of contact and handle the whole plate. Don’t sleep on him to be a mild surprise of a name as early as the mid-teens next July. | |||||||||||
