| Summary: It is hard to consider anyone a sleeper more than a year out from the draft and ranked this high, but Weinstein just might fit that bill. The tools won’t blow you away, there isn’t big power, blazing speed, or a cannon of an arm, but he is significantly greater as a whole than the sum of his parts. If there is a true carrying tool, it will be the hit tool as he may have the best bat-to-ball skills of anyone in the 2026 class. The natural instincts to put the ball in play, take the extra bag, defensive awareness, is elite. He may not have the natural quickness or arm strength of a traditional shortstop, I wouldn’t count him out as a guy who could stick there either. | |||||||||||
