| Summary: de Brun is a player that has really been climbing draft boards and will likely climb even more as we get closer to the draft. The big debates with him will be how much power is there in the future, and how much will his size hold him back. It is not just the height, there are plenty of quality ball players under 5’10”, although that list isn’t too extensive, there is a lack of projection in the body too. I don’t think he develops into much power leaving the hit tool essential to his profile. Luckily he has that with impressive bat speed and consistently makes hard contact thanks to his short, level swing. He sees spin well and shoots liners to all fields. He is an absolute menace on the bases too thanks to his plus speed, but also plus baserunning instincts. He is a no doubt center fielder although the arm just might play in right if needed. A quality all around ballplayer, the arrow is certainly pointing up here. | |||||||||||
